Hello, my name is Millie Clinton and I'm a 17 year old currently living in Kent, England. I'm a student studying history, English literature, psychology and, the most relevant: photography. Photography has been my hobby for 3 - nearly 4 - years and I am still just as enthusiastic and passionate about what I do as I was the moment I first picked up my camera.
I learnt photography using 35mm film and was taught by my father and grandfather, as well as picking up a range of skills on my own along the way. I still use 35mm film, using a Canon A-1 mainly (also a Pentax ME super, Canon EOS 650, Zenit-E and a Minolta XGM from time to time), as well as also using 120mm film in my Rolleiflex. I do not like to post process my photographs using any kind of computer editing system, therefore all of my images are "straight out of camera"! I very rarely use my DSLR which is a Canon EOS 600D.
All of my photographs I take are for fun; although I do have some experience in wedding photography. I have photographed 3 weddings now to produce very pleasing results (to my suprise - wedding photography is very stressful!) . I go out once or twice a month using my friends as models for a full photoshoot session, I've bought countless props, outfits for my models, rolls of film and have nervously asked several owners of cafe's, shops and such if I can take photographs on their premises. As I was quite shy just a year ago, I now pride myself on my attitude of, "at least ask, the worst they can do is say no"!
I've never been the 'artistic' type, but photography means a lot to me. The experiences I've had taking photographs have really shaped me as a person, I've made new friends, my confidence has grown as well as developed (excuse the film pun..) several new skills in an art form. So I really advocate taking up photography as a hobby, it's something everybody can learn to do and enjoy but more importantly, it makes so many new memories that you get a physical keepsake of every single time.
